YAMAHA SY35 dynamic vector synthesizer
A rather cool Japanese digital synth from 1991. It is a sort of successor to the Sequential Prophet VS – in the late 1980s Yamaha acquired Sequential and used the Prophet VS ‘vector’ technology in their own dynamic vector synthesis instruments. Its basicly just 4 oscillators/synth parts either AWM waveforms or very simple 2 operator FM synthesis waves you can stir with a joystick. There is no filter, just envelopes, modulation and effects.
A synth with a lot of character and unique sound. Think Silent Hill / Brad Fiedel Terminator / New age dolphin / Ambient / Industrial / esoteric space planetarium / avant garde composer stuff.
There is a Legowelt sample pack with 121 sounds in wav format I programmed on this machine, just check out the samples section.
