REALISTIC CONCERTMATE 500
sampler keyboard US Radioshack version of the CASIO SK1 1985
This is a US version of the Japanese CASIO SK1 sampler that was sold at the Radioshack stores. It is identical to the Casio except for a different color scheme.
This is the first widely available affordable ‘toy’ sampler keyboard. Mostly aimed at little brats sampling farts and burps it also shines in a more professional setting. You can record 1 sample of 1.4 seconds (lol but in 1985 this was groundbreaking 😉 ). You can sample in 8 bit at a resolution of 9.38 kHz. This sample can be played in 4 voice polyphony and you can alter the shape using (quite a few ) different ‘preset’ envelopes. Also available are vibrato, sustain, looping and a pretty simple but effective sequencer.
There are also some cool very synthetic hypnotic drum sounds that have been used in tons of records (even a few Drexcyia ones!). Besides that there a few preset sounds and a pretty useless programmable adittive synth were you layer sine waves.
